Exploring Moodle


Moodle Demonstration Site
Visit the demonstration site to experience editing in the Moodle environment.Go to the English section, and select any of the moodles there. Note: This is now Moodle 2.0, so the environment may look slightly different from your environment.

Task 1: Identify the various features of the Moodle course and become familiar with the environment:
  • How is it organized?
  • What kinds of activities are present?
  • What kinds of resources are present?
  • What visual cues are present?
Task 2: Let's Edit! You will have to login (upper right corner; teacher - demo)
  • Can you turn the editing on and off?
  • Can you identify the symbols and their function?
  • Can you locate the settings?
  • Explore!

Building your Moodle

We will do the following together during our time together.

Tasks:
1. Log in to your Moodle site; click on your name to update your profile.
2. Find your course: check the settings for the course. This will include the enrollment key!
3. Add resources and activities
4. Communication Tools
a. 2 Minute Tutorials - scroll down to the orange labeled "third batch" of tools
b. Moodle: Creating an online course - scroll to topic 6, Communication and Collaboration Tools
